About Irish Water Safety Lifeguards
Irish Water Safety is the Statutory body established by the Irish Government to promote Water Safety in Ireland. Our role is to educate people in water safety best practices.
We are the Irish National body entrusted with the training and qualifying of Pool, Beach and River Lifeguards. All IWS Qualified Lifeguards are recognised Internationally by our affiliation, as the Irish National Water Safety Body, with International Life Saving.
Our Members carry out Risk Assessments on all Bathing Areas Nationwide, in order to make them safer by the erection of ring buoys, signage and other necessary actions.
We advise and assist Local Authorities on all matters relating to water safety.
