JAWS – Junior Aquatics Water Safety

JAWS is a follow on course from PAWS and was developed specifically for secondary school pupils.

The JAWS Programme develops the participants swimming, survival and rescue skills. It also increases their water safety knowledge and awareness.

The final assessment for the programme is to be carried out by an Irish Water Safety Instructor/Examiner.
JAWS participants are awarded a certificate when they have completed the course.

Irish Water Safety is the statutory body established to promote water safety in Ireland. We educate people in water safety best practices. We develop public awareness campaigns to promote necessary attitudes, rescue skills and behaviour to prevent drownings and water related accidents.
