Lifeguarded Waterways

Carlow

Carlow County Council employ river lifeguards  who are on duty commencing at 2pm until 5pm and  from 6pm to 8pm each day of the week on the River Barrow. The popular bathing locations on the River Barrow  at which the Council provide a lifeguard service are:

Clashganna Borris  - towpath areas adjacent to weir  and quay,

Bagenalstown - towpath areas adjacent to Boat Slip and Swimming pool.

FINGAL​

All of Fingal’s beaches are guarded from 11am to 7pm during the bathing season.

Lifeguards are provided for weekends only in June and daily throughout July and August. Lifeguards will be on duty on the Blue Flag beaches for the first two weekends only in September.

Wicklow Local Authorities provide a Beach Lifeguard Service during the Summer bathing season as follows : -                               

Bray Beach (Two Stations and Non-Blue Flag Beach) from 12.00 noon to 7.00 pm at week-ends and from 12.00 noon to 6.00 pm on week days, during June, July and August.

Greystones South Beach (Blue Flag Beach 2014) from 11.00 am to 7.00. pm daily during June, July and August and for the first two week-ends in September.

Wicklow Harbour (Non Blue Flag Beach) from 11.00. am to 7.00 pm daily, during June, July and August.

Brittas Bay North Beach (Blue Flag Beach 2014) from 11.00 am to 7.00. pm daily, during June, July and August and for the first two week-ends in September.

Brittas Bay South Beach (Blue Flag Beach 2014) from 11.00. am to 7.00.pm daily, during June, July and August and for the first two week-ends in September.

Arklow South Beach (Non Blue Flag Beach) from 12.30 pm to 6.30. pm daily, during July and August.
